Editorial Design

Chroma

An independent design magazine needed layouts worthy of its subject — balanced grids and confident typography that give long features room to breathe.

The Challenge

Chroma’s writing deserved better than its template — cramped columns and timid headlines flattened every story. The redesign had to feel premium while staying practical for a small editorial team.

The Approach

I created a flexible twelve-column grid, a three-size headline scale and a library of recurring departments. Strong rules for text, generous freedom for imagery — structure with surprise.
